Mergers & AcquisitionsFrom opportunity to deal
For buyers, investors and strategic partners

Not every company for sale is advertised for sale

Some owners will consider selling only if the right person comes to them. Some companies never thought about selling at all, until an interesting strategic offer arrived.

Many buyers search listings and websites. That is a good place to start, but a good company is not necessarily there. So a large part of acquisition work is not only reviewing what is on offer, but defining what you want to buy, and then going out to find it.

How we work with you

Two routes, depending on what suits you.

Route one — what is already on the table

You join our buyer register with a defined profile. When a company that matches it comes to us, you receive an initial anonymous profile and decide whether to go further.

  • No cost and no commitment at this stage
  • Initial information only, with no identifying details
  • We contact you only when there is a genuine match

Route two — an active search for you

We define the acquisition profile together, then go out and find companies that fit it, including companies that are not for sale, and approach them personally and discreetly on your behalf.

  • A sector map and a target list
  • A professional approach that does not expose you too early
  • Support from the first conversation through to signing

Who is the right buyer? And why it matters to you

The buyer willing to pay the most is not always the best buyer. A strategic buyer often sees something in a company that others do not: customers they want to reach, a complementary product, skilled staff, a licence, a distribution network, equipment, a location, knowledge, or fast entry into a new market.

If you are the party who sees that value, it is worth our knowing exactly what you are looking for. That is the difference between waiting for a deal and having the right deal reach you first.

What we will need from you

So that we can present you to owners as a serious buyer:
  • A defined acquisition profile: sectors, region, the scale of revenue and profit you want, and your preferred deal structure.
  • Proof of funds: confirmation of your financing for a deal of the size you are seeking.
  • A signed non-disclosure agreement: before any identifying detail about any company is shared.
  • Commitment to the process: availability to meet, decisions within a reasonable time, and orderly dealings with the owner.

Confidential opportunities

This is how we present companies in process: enough information to tell whether it is relevant, with no identifying details.
